We’re thrilled to share that Sunnyside Mall is undergoing major internal and external ambience works to improve your shopping experience. 

In line with these upgrades and to better represent our community, we have identified an opportunity to update the centre branding. 

“Sunnyside Mall” will remain, a name that has long resonated with our community. We are introducing four new logo marques to replace the existing brand and modernise our identity. These logo elements capture the essence of our community, surrounded by nature. With rolling green fields and the dramatic backdrop of Wollumbin Mount Warning, Murwillumbah is a lush hinterland in the midst of an extinct volcanic caldera. The sleepy village is known as the gateway to magnificent tropical rainforests, and the main driver of the icons and colour palette.

The four icons represent (left to right / top to bottom)

1. Tweed river, which the centre lies on the banks
2. Surrounded by rainforest and national park 
3. Farming of cattle and sugar cane
4. Mount Warning

Whilst we anticipate minimal to no disruption to your shopping experience throughout the works, we appreciate your patience in the meantime. 

As a key cornerstone to the Murwillumbah town centre, the proposed external upgrade seeks to realign the minimalist facade to suit these heritage and Art-Deco roots - as a reinvigorated local ‘icon’.

As the key path of travel through the Mall, the internal ramp is a highly visible, densely trafficked artery in the centre. The proposed works shift the ramp to become a place of excitement, reflecting the spirit of Murbah - a central gathering space of the Mall.

Offering generous modes of welcoming seating, the proposed works reconnects the scale of the space and it’s architecture to become a part of the enjoyed features in this section of Sunnyside Plaza. A hybrid of playscape, library and community board, it is a space designed to benefit a wide range of age groups.
